@Anduin2017 I have just installed AnduinOS 2.0.3 and I love it. Amazing work!
The new speech-to-text feature is very useful, as I use it a lot on Android.

So far, I have only noticed a minor issue in AnduinOS 2.0.3: a missing German translation inside the new Control Panel.

My recommendation:
Factory Reset = Auf Werkseinstellungen zurücksetzen
Tooltip text = Systemdateien und Anwendungen auf ihren initialen Zustand zurücksetzen

Aside from that, the YubiKey settings (which you implemented before) are also super cool. Since I own a YubiKey, I now have even more use cases for it. :)

AnduinOS really reminds me of the good old days of Windows 7 when Microsoft actually cared about its users.

I will check the German translations over the next week and create a thread if I find room for optimization. And yeah... I know how German sounds to foreigners. Why German Sounds So Aggressive 😂

If you saw a username input after booting the live cd, means your usb stick was broken.

Please use a new usb stick with better qualityand burn it again in dd mode.

This happens when the system was corrupted.

Hands-down the most user-friendly linux installer ever, and I have tested over 200 linux distros in the past year alone! There are so many thoughtful touches in the UI, such as enabling dark mode by default, and the little triangle warnings next to options if you configure an unsafe setting. I followed the first recommendation and enabled SecureBoot in UEFI, then booted back into the LiveUSB to continue the SecureBoot setup. After AnduinOS created the SecureBoot keys, It prompted me to reboot once more to enroll them in my UEFI. The system accepted the SecureBoot changes and I was once more back in the LiveUSB. The installation picked up automatically where I left off, and I went with all the default options except the firewall, which I enabled. I can't recall any other desktop os offering this choice, I always had to install and configure it from terminal post-install.

Towards the end, a nifty hardware page came up, where I could see that SecureBoot was installed correctly and active, the firmware for all my devices were updated to the latest version, and I enabled the optional XBOX controller driver. I declined the offer to setup Windows compatibility (WINE), because I am already familiar with linux apps and didn't see a need to add an unnecessary abstraction layer. However, it's nice for first-time Windows-to-Linux users; they can install and use their favorite Windows apps now, helping them transition to Linux without overwhelming them too early.

After selecting my install drive and formatting it with the recommended BTRFS option, I reviewed my choices on the previous menus, and then confirmed the installation, which started the file transfer. During this time, there was a nice set of helpful pages rotating, offering tips and tricks to new users and old alike. Once the install completed, AnduinOS prompted me to reboot, and a few seconds later, I was at the familiar Gnome login screen.

Logging into the desktop went quickly, and the post-install part of the installation popped up, offering me a tour, installing recommended apps, and allowing me to fine tune the system. Of particular note was that AnduinOS selected, installed, and configured the nVidia drivers flawlessly, and I have not had any visual artifacts, app crashes, or overheating issues with my GPU. In fact, the card, which is rated for about 220watts, was only using 8watts at the desktop, versus Windows, which idled around 25watts. Yet, the overall system responsiveness was snappy, even with all the Gnome extensions enabled for AnduinOS's desktop interface and theme. Shutdown, restart, suspend and wake all work flawlessly out-of-the-box, which is impressive considering that my poorly-chosen hardware configuration required several hours of driver hunting, installing and configuring in Windows 11.

Again, there are so many thoughtful details, such as asking whether I wanted my taskbar setup like Windows 11 (centered), or left-aligned (Windows 7/8/10). I also appreciate the low-key branding; some distros have un-aesthetic or cartoonish logos splattered everywhere, which is off-putting for professional use. I quickly downloaded my favorite flatpack apps from the Software center such as the bittorrent client Fragments and music app Vinyl, and uninstalled a few default choices such as Transmission and Amarok. Unlike some other distros, the system did not break! Another pet peeve of mine is that most desktop-oriented distros pre-install the LibreOffice suite, which is slow, feature-bloated and clunky to use in 2026. I prefer lighter options such as Google Docs or OnlyOffice. AnduinOS focuses on delivering a high-performance, ultra-stable operating system, instead of trying to force software choices on you.

Anyway, although AnduinOS is a fairly new distro, it's a Rising Star (pun intended) on DistroWatch, and the hottest trending distro since CachyOS hit the deck!

The Disk Status Capture Manager didn't work in V. 2.0.3, I've already installed the distro twice and it insists on not starting, it's listed in 'Programs' but there's no shortcut, I'm a beginner, forgive me if I'm talking nonsense.
