Convert AppStream to DEP-11/JAML or JSON and use it directly from Jekyll

Currently we need to write clumsy bash code to access the content of the AppStream XML. It would be much nicer if we could convert the XML to a format that is understood by Jekyll and use it there directly.

Question, does Jeykll understand DEP-11? http://www.freedesktop.org/software/appstream/docs/sect-AppStream-DEP11.html seems down.

I guess asgen could be extended to read AppImageKit bundles somehow, if they are stored in some kind of repository structure... It generates XML as well, if you tell it to do that.
