How to add an appliance with "Sign in with Home Connect account"
#102
Repeat these steps for every appliance. There is no pop-up login window: you open the link yourself, sign in, and paste the resulting URL back into Home Assistant.
1. Start
Go to Settings > Devices & Services. Discovered appliances show up under "Discovered" (click Add), or open Home Connect Local and click Add device.
2. Choose the setup method
Select Sign in with Home Connect account and click OK.
3. Choose your region
Select Europe (EU), North America (NA) or China (CN) and click OK.
4. Open the link
The dialog now shows a long link starting with https://api.home-connect.com/security/oauth/authorize?.... Click it. It opens the Home Connect login in a new browser tab. Keep this dialog open, you paste the URL here in step 6.
5. Sign in
Log in with the SingleKey ID you use in the Home Connect app and approve the access.
6. Copy the URL of the "dead" page
Your browser now opens a page on app.home-connect.com that does not load ("site can't be reached"). This is expected. Copy the complete URL from the address bar, go back to Home Assistant and paste it into the field from step 4. Click OK.
7. Name the appliance
Set name and area and click Finish.
8. Done
The appliance is now listed under Home Connect Local. For the next appliance start again at step 1.
Alternative for several appliances: profile ZIP
If you have many appliances, you can download all profiles at once with the desktop tool Home Connect Profile Downloader (2.0.0 beta or 1.0.2). Then choose Upload profile ZIP manually in step 2 instead of signing in.

Paste the full URL, not only a part of it.
If it fails, start again at step 1 with a fresh link.
