How to downgrade ATLYSS

This is for downgrading ATLYSS from Steam requiring you own the game, although it lacks Digital Rights Management (DRM). There's currently no public archives of the Alpha and Poon Quest builds as of writing if that is what you're looking for.

The information was gathered through SteamDB -> Depots -> 2768431 -> Manifests. But you can skip this because you need to login with an unlocked Steam account (spent $5) to see the full list of ManaifestIDs, which Mellodonix generously provided. Special thanks to Mello for the IDs and Saito for the method!

Steam Console

We need to access the hidden Steam Console to download these. There's temporary & permanent methods:

• Temporary: Paste steam://open/console into Windows Run (Win + R) or browser address bar then press enter.
• Permanent:

1. Close then search for "Steam" and click "Open file location".
2. Right-click it and open "Properties"
3. Add -console in the "Target" field. (E.G. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -console)
4. Reopen, there should be a fifth tab named "Console" now.

There is numerous commands but the one we're using is download_depot: download_depot [AppID] [DepotID] [ManifestID].

• AppID is the application identifier found in the page URL: https://store.steampowered.com/app/**2768430**/ATLYSS/.
• DepotID is the build identifier. Using SteamDB it's 2768431.
• ManifestID is a sub-identifier of game builds. There's a complete list of them at the bottom.

For example here's what downloading the Steam release version (1.0.0B) looks like:

There isn't any progress bars so wait until it's completed then go to the folder path and move it somewhere else, since downloading another depot overwrites the previous one.

You won't need Steam to launch the game unless you want multiplayer (No-DRM):

1. Click on "Games" in the top left
2. "Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library"
3. "Browse..." then find the folder and select ATLYSS.exe.

Congrats, Steam's P2P Networking should now work and you can join multiplayer on that version!
