Context and steps to reproduce

When trying to create a new account using Google, it fails.

To reproduce:

• Use a new Google email
• Go to https://wordpress.com/discover
• Like a post
• Click "Create an Account"
• Select your Google account
• See that the modal fires an error

This occurs with and without 3rd party cookies enabled.
