using bluetooth from ax-shell doesn't save my airpods I have to pair them anew every time

The bluetooth module follows the same config as how you have bluetooth configured in you system. When I pair a device it stays available in the module.
Try pairing using GNOME Bluetooth, so you have more options. It's actually a dependency of Fabric's bluetooth module so it should be available in your system.
