🦧 Important branding question: should APE use a monkey emoji?

We’ve got an open PR ( #8 ) suggesting a monkey emoji for APE, and before we swing it in, we
should probably pause for a very serious primate protocol review.

The core question: is a monkey emoji the right mascot for APE?

Technically, monkeys and apes are different primates. The quickest field guide: monkeys
usually have tails, apes do not. Since our project is called APE, we should decide
whether monkey imagery is close enough, charming enough, or just biologically suspicious.

Let’s keep the PR open while we collect opinions here, so the final decision has a clear
place to point back to. That way, whether we merge it, swap the emoji, or choose a
different mascot entirely, the reasoning is visible and we don’t have to re-litigate the
Great Emoji Taxonomy Debate later.
