Hearing that you created your GitHub account for the very first time just to post this comment genuinely means a lot to me Seeing that kind of passion for OmniWM is incredible and gives me so much motivation to keep pushing this project forward. I currently have a few other issues on my plate that I need to fix first, but I'll definitely take a close look at this right after those are out of the way. Thanks again for the kind words and support! 🫡 |

Hello, I am on MacOS27 Golden Gate beta, so Idk how valid my ideas are as Idk if these features work on a stable version of MacOS or not.. But I've been using OmniWM for a couple of weeks now and I love it! I am an absolute sucker for Niri on Linux and have been craving that experience elsewhere. It is great, but definitely has a couple of things to improve on.
Let me start with fullscreen apps. They are pretty jank for me. MacOS fullscreen always is. For me specifically, if there are other apps open on a workspace and you open a fullscreen game/app, it will automatically minimize the app upon opening. It only will fully open the app once you enter an empty workspace and open it manually there. So what I thought was fixing that behavior by making it so when you select a fullscreen app it automatically switches you to the next empty workspace or its already designated workspace (if empty) to be opened. I think that would help the issue of having to seek for a random workspace whenever I want to ensure the app wont just automatically minimize.
Also a side note or issue, and Idk if anyone else has the same problem. Although gestures work for me on trackpad, I cant get scroll wheel + modifier shortcuts to work for scrolling through programs or workspaces at all.. Idk if this is an OmniWM issue or just MacOS not assigning smth, which would be strange because scrolling works just fine for me in all instances normally.
Anyways I've never actually posted anything on Github before so idk if this is what Im supposed to do, but I love and respect your work/project so much. Seriously you are the main reason I am even sticking with macOS. Aerospace, Yabai, PaperWM all suck in comparison to this project imo.
