Off-button on climate entity

Dear Benas09,

Thanks for this project. It is now up and running and I now have a solution to control my airconditioning when not at home for a fraction of the cost of a Wifi module. Super!

I tried to change the code to also have an 'off' button at the mode selection, but it did not work properly. The original fuji integration has that (I have multiple Fuji airco's), and I really like it. Is it possible to add this?

Hi. There is an extra switch, called "power" (in HA registered as switch.officeac_power, of course, depends how you named your unit).

I made it like that, because AC unit has different register addresses for current mode and power switch and power switch is different from mode. This allows for AC to remember last mode for the next time when you turn it off.

It is possible to adjust MQTTBridge to include power off in directly modes, but it is not as straightforward.

Hi. How your dashboard looks like?
I use it like that (below). So in my case it is big anyway, because sometimes I want to toggle swing or change flap position.
It is possible, of course, to move power button to climate entity between modes, I will think about it.

Also:

• Is your AC has USB-type connector? If yes - can you confirm that TX/RX pins are correct and not swapped?
• Does your AC has WIFI led button on unit itself? If yes - did you have to "enable" dongle with your aircon remote somehow or just plugged and it worked?

Hi,
Below you see a Mitsubishi Electric that is being controlled via MQTT with the power in the climate entity. As you can see, when power is in the climate entity, it becomes grey when off. Right hand side is the Fujitsu with your code, the colouring indicates that the unit is on, but it is actually off.

The serial connection was done with hardware serial enabled in code and per your instructions using RX2/TX2 (GPIO16/17) through the voltage level shifter. I don't think I swapped them around, but I was experimenting a fair bit initially to get it going so not 100% sure (and now all covered up so I can't check!). The setup definitely didn't work with software serial for me.

My AC remote had a button which had "BACK/[Wifi Symbol] ON/OFF" printed on it. I had to hold down this button for about 5 seconds until the remote showed "Ln" and then I used the TEMP. up and down buttons to get "ON" flashing on the remote display underneath "Ln" (the temp buttons shift between ON and OFF). Once the "ON" is flashing on the remote display you point the remote at the air conditioner and push the power button "O/I" to transmit the instruction to the air conditioner and the WIFI port on the head unit starts working.

Just double checked, GPIO16 is the top data pin of the USB port. So It's wired per your instructions.

Pinout for USB style socket:
Pin 1 - 12v
Pin 2 - AC_TX - 16 pin
Pin 3 - AC_RX - 17 pin
Pin 4 - GND
