Menu Customizer 3.35.25 - Matrix rain and menu cleanup
- Add Matrix rain as both a border and a background: Green, Cyan, Violet,
Spectrum and Amber, with animated color gradients and existing speed controls. - Remake Black Waterfall with continuous falling lanes, spray and repeating
pools across the full display, including 32:9 ultrawide screens. - Remove preset themes and static Pokemon backgrounds from the pickers.
Consolidate similar static colors. Saved numeric IDs remain stable and
retired colors/backgrounds resolve to retained choices. - Add independent Bag and Party font, background, border, text/shadow,
selector and text-effect controls, including the native Hoenn screen paths.
Global controls include these screens; USE MENU STYLE restores inheritance. - Fix SAVE fade restarts when GB/GBC dialog children change, preserve GBA
transitions across missed presentation frames, and isolate offscreen replay
from inherited clipping, color, blend and stencil state.
Built from GitHub v3.35.24. Validation: all eleven games pass Loader/settings
and native Bag/Party GPU fixtures on engine 0.3.95. Desktop and GLES shaders,
five Matrix variants with independent border motion and speed controls,
32:9 waterfall coverage/motion, and 12 stable SAVE replay frames pass. The
SAVE rendering regression fails on v3.35.24 and passes with this update.
Validation uses native constructed fixtures, not a full gameplay playthrough
or a physical Android device. No custom launcher is required.
Menu Customizer 3.35.24 - Complete battle text shadows
Fix the clipped left shadow on Pokemon names and the first letter of every battle command prompt line, including What will and Charmander do?
The text keeps its existing positions, font size, and spacing. The renderer allows the shadow's left overhang, while overlapping popup windows still cover HUD names correctly. No artwork or font atlas changes are required.
Built from GitHub's latest Menu Customizer v3.35.23 (b56f11b). Validation passed:
- 956 geometry, DPI, font-size, alignment, and occlusion checks on both Lua 5.3 and LuaJIT.
- Six full G1R 0.3.95 GPU configurations across Red, Blue, and Yellow, including compact, fractional-fit, and 2436x1410 windows.
- All four affected labels match an unclipped shadow reference. Their anchors, scales, and all 8,272 foreground red pixels are identical before and after the fix.
Install Menu-Customizer-v3.35.24.zip, replacing the previous Menu Customizer install, then restart G1R. The SHA-256 checksum is included.
Menu Customizer 3.35.23 - Keep battle UI behind level-up stats
Keep the Gen 1 battle HP/status UI visible while the level-up stats box is open. The stats panel now layers over the finished battle instead of suppressing the HUD beneath it.
If you use HD Dynamic Battlefields, also update to 0.3.0-beta.7. That paired fix retains the scenery while the stats overlay is open. Install both updates and restart G1R.
Validated through the full G1R 0.3.95 rendering pipeline in Red, Blue and Yellow, using native/Emerald font settings and 1280x720/480x360 windows. Seven GPU cases passed, including visible and fainted opponents, stats dismissal, and Bag/Party transitions. Focused layering tests passed on Lua 5.3 and LuaJIT.
Download Menu-Customizer-v3.35.23.zip and replace the previous Menu Customizer install. Existing settings and artwork downloads remain compatible.
Menu Customizer 3.35.22 — Gen 1 command selector fix
v3.35.22 - Gen 1 native command selector
Fix the missing selector on the Gen 1 native-font battle command menu. The foreground text pass suppressed every rectangle to remove opaque text paper; pixel selectors use rectangles too, so their drawing was discarded. Permit selector rectangles only while rendering the command cursor, restoring the guard even after errors. Keep text paper suppressed and preserve selector spacing/settings.
Also repair the encoded Pokemon command caption in the Emerald-font path.
Validation: reproduced the original failure with zero painted selector rectangles, then verified Arrow and Pokeball at all four command positions with native and Emerald fonts on runtime 0.3.95. Reviewed final-window captures and passed existing font-size, selector-spacing, option-column and grouping checks plus LuaJIT compilation. Physical Retroid/Android GPU confirmation remains outstanding.
Menu Customizer 3.35.21 — Section font sizes and selector fixes
v3.35.21 - Section text sizes and battle selector fixes
Add Small, Medium and Large font size controls to the existing Text > Font and Layout section submenus. Medium preserves every section's current sizing and saved typography. Scaling uses whole framebuffer pixels and fits constrained battle cells; native healthbox gauges retain their geometry. Small cannot shrink below one physical pixel.
Remove redundant ancestor submenu prefixes from option titles. Keep single-word move names, including SMOKESCREEN, intact; wrap only at word boundaries. Render command selectors directly from pixel artwork rather than depending on an imported font glyph, and preserve the command pass after labels are drawn.
Validation: 23 size scopes at four scales, integer scaling/default/anchor/scope checks, intact move-name regression, selector and options navigation checks, all-source LuaJIT compilation, Emerald native battle fixtures including Performance Mode, and Crystal native Loader/Sandbox rendering. No physical Retroid Pocket Classic or Android GPU verification; device confirmation of the selector fix remains necessary.
Menu Customizer 3.35.20 — Selector spacing
v3.35.20 - Selector spacing controls
Add Start Selector Gap, Other Selector Gap, and independent Poke Mart Selector Gap under Selectors. Each ranges from -4 PX to 4 PX in one-pixel increments, defaults to 0, and preserves existing text positions. Positive gaps move leading icons away, underlines downward, and paired dots outward. Marker-free effects retain their behavior.
Validation: all selector styles across all nine values, independent Mart scope, options/grouping regressions, and LuaJIT parsing.
Menu Customizer 3.35.19 — Options spacing
v3.35.19 - Options column spacing
Right-align custom option values inside their frame instead of using a fixed column. Shorten transparency labels to opacity and remove repeated Battle prefixes inside battle submenus. Preserve settings, callbacks and font sizes.
Validation: FR/LG and Emerald column spacing, submenu callback/source preservation, Stardew grouping and LuaJIT parsing.
Menu Customizer 3.35.17 — Move selector spacing
Add another pixel between the move selector and move name in grid and list views. Move names, panels and font sizes stay in place.
Validated native position comparisons, Emerald pane bounds and LuaJIT parsing.
Menu Customizer 3.35.16 — Move selector spacing
v3.35.16 - Move selector spacing
Add one pixel of separation between move selectors and move names in grid and list layouts. Move names, panels and font sizes retain their positions.
Validation: native selector position comparison, Emerald pane checks, and fitted grid/list containment checks.
Menu Customizer v3.35.15 - Emerald HP spacing
Menu Customizer 3.35.15 - Emerald HP spacing
Move the HP labels four game pixels toward their gauges, lower the EXP bar one game pixel, and remove the padded gap after the slash in custom Emerald healthbox HP values. Position the maximum HP immediately after the measured current-HP/slash text so native and custom fonts both stay compact. Preserve panel sizes and previous vertical text offsets.
Validated command and move-select screens through the official v0.3.89 runtime with native and custom fonts; inspected the rendered healthbox. Performance Mode from 3.35.14 remains available.
Restart after updating. Saves and settings are preserved.
