Release list
Omera v0.4.9
Changed
- Merge Inspector tabs into one continuous detail flow, with the generation
summary, model, prompt, and parameters before organization and file details. - Use expandable long prompts and collapsible negative prompts, LoRA details,
and raw metadata. Preserve the current view during curation and reset it when
selecting another image or file revision.
Fixed
- Wrap Inspector quick actions at narrow widths and improve generation button
contrast in light themes. Workflow and LoRA trigger actions support keyboard
activation, and Inspector animations respect reduced-motion preferences.
Release testing
Windows x64 NSIS/MSI compilation, all 309 frontend tests, and 406 Rust tests
passed (one Rust test remains ignored). Synthetic browser checks cover both
Inspector widths and light/dark themes. Native installed WebView/media/gallery
and the complete installed-update platform matrix remain incomplete (#256).
Legacy discovery and supported import remain available throughout pre-1.0;
cleanup still requires a separate explicit in-application decision.
For complete release details and commit history, see CHANGELOG.md.
Omera v0.4.8
Fixed
- Check for updates through the native backend so WebView CSP and cross-origin
restrictions cannot block the GitHub API or latest-release redirect fallback. - Use the current Windows manual system proxy for update checks and signed
downloads, with explicit proxy environment variables taking precedence. Proxy
changes take effect on the next request without restarting the application. - Bound update metadata requests and preserve useful network diagnostics while
retaining HTTPS enforcement and installer signature verification.
Release testing
The updater fix passed the frontend build, 306 frontend regressions, workspace
Rust checks and live GitHub API/fallback requests using Windows proxy settings.
The existing native installed-update acceptance limitations from 0.4.7 remain;
this patch does not claim completion of the installed-platform matrix (#256).
PAC/WPAD and proxy bypass lists are not supported by the native update client.
For complete release details and commit history, see CHANGELOG.md.
Omera v0.4.7
Added
- Preview images in the center workspace while keeping library navigation and
a shared Inspector available. Fit, physical-pixel 100% zoom, panning, optional
full screen and bounded next-page navigation are available from the viewer. - Inspector tabs separate image facts and organization, generation parameters,
and raw metadata. Ordinary photos show technical details and organization
without empty generation sections. - Search translated settings descriptions and jump to the matching control.
Theme choices edit a draft and apply only after preferences save successfully.
Fixed
- Inspector ratings, favorites and sensitive classifications use the registered
commands and publish confirmed field changes without replacing newer metadata.
Marking a revealed image as sensitive masks it again while retaining its tab. - Returning from preview restores the latest gallery scroll anchor. Late page
replies cannot navigate after a selection round trip or source replacement. - Embedded preview keeps application preferences, help, folder and sidebar
shortcuts available while isolating hidden-gallery actions and nested dialogs. - Tag and album dialogs close and refresh organization through their actual
emitted events. Video navigation and source revisions reset the old timeline
and replace the video element.
Changed
- Load non-English translation catalogs only when needed. The main JavaScript
asset decreases from 695 kB to 374 kB, with all seven languages still packaged.
Saved-language startup, legacy language preferences and the English fallback
remain supported; failed catalog loads retain the active interface language.
Release testing
Native installed WebView, real-media/video, gallery/reduced-motion and complete
Windows x64, macOS Apple Silicon and Linux x64 installed-update acceptance remain
incomplete (#256). Automated
regressions, synthetic browser checks and signed package verification do not
establish native acceptance. Legacy discovery and supported import remain
available throughout the pre-1.0 series; cleanup still requires a separate
explicit in-application decision after destination validation.
For complete release details and commit history, see CHANGELOG.md.
Omera v0.4.6
Added
- First Omera setup now lets users choose the application language and database
directory, including users who completed onboarding in Berry. Media, settings,
models and caches keep their existing locations. - Reviewed legacy import plans show source/destination paths, storage estimates
and warnings. Verified snapshots activate after restarting; source libraries
remain intact. Optional cleanup requires a separate explicit decision and
revalidates the reviewed artifacts before removing eligible application data. - Clicking the application version opens the update check; the titlebar includes
a link to the Omera GitHub repository.
Fixed
- Legacy imports reject changed or redirected sources, detect open legacy
databases on Windows, and stage snapshots without replacing an active library. - Setup and migration feedback is localized in all seven supported languages;
Windows capacity checks and byte-size formatting report storage consistently.
Changed
- The project license is now Apache License 2.0. Package metadata, contribution
guidance, translated READMEs, user guides and the website reflect the change. - Installation guides document database selection, restart activation and
separately approved cleanup. Website download fallbacks open the official
release page when current package information is unavailable.
Release testing
This release is requested by the owner. Automated regressions and signed package
checks remain separate from native installed-update acceptance. The complete
Windows x64, macOS Apple Silicon and Linux x64 installed-update matrix remains
pending (#256). Legacy discovery
and supported import remain available throughout the pre-1.0 series.
For complete release details and commit history, see CHANGELOG.md.
Omera v0.4.5
Fixed
- Windows setup now requires Visual C++ 2019 x64
14.29.30157.0instead of
inheriting the build machine's newer runtime version. Compatible existing
installations can continue without an unnecessary runtime upgrade. The floor
is verified against the required CRT imports and a native ONNX CPU inference
fixture using the baseline DLLs. - Runtime checks search both registry views and verify the four required native
system DLLs. Setup explains missing or outdated files with their detected
versions and links directly to Microsoft's official x64 redistributable.
Added
- Windows EXE setup defaults to the system language and lets users select English,
Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, German, French or Spanish.
Runtime guidance and language-selection text are localized. Silent and passive
update installations remain free of language-selection dialogs.
Release testing
Automated regressions, native runtime compatibility and actual Windows installer
compilation are checked separately from installed-update acceptance. The owner
authorized this patch release; further Windows Sandbox testing remains deferred.
The complete Windows x64, macOS Apple Silicon and Linux x64 installed-update
matrix remains pending (#256).
For complete release details and commit history, see CHANGELOG.md.
Omera v0.4.4
Added
- Opt-in automatic database/configuration snapshot backups, interval settings,
last-result feedback and restart/failure recovery. Media and external credentials
are not included in these snapshots. - Saved Table column preferences, expandable Table stacks, clearer selection
scope, prompt insights and a session masking shortcut. - Signed update installers with adjacent
.minisigfiles, pinned verification
trust, fail-closed download/install checks and manual installation guidance.
Fixed
- Windows setup now checks the required system Microsoft Visual C++ x64 runtime.
The EXE installer links to Microsoft's official download page and rechecks after
you install or repair the runtime. MSI explains the requirement and stops before
changing the installation. Runtime DLLs are not bundled; administrator approval
may be needed for Microsoft's runtime installer. - Legacy migration, staged restore, source retention, import collisions and
incomplete scans preserve existing data more reliably. - Transformation metadata/privacy, sidecar handling and derivative dimensions
stay consistent with published files. AVIF discovery no longer claims unsupported
managed-library decoding. - Cloud transfer limits, cancellation, root namespaces and checksum comparisons
handle concurrent and same-size changed files more reliably. - Settings save failures, stale forms, batch refresh, keyboard interaction,
localized feedback and table/gallery selection behavior are corrected.
Release testing
This release is published at the owner's request for further testing. Automated
regressions and installer/signing checks are separate from native acceptance.
The owner reports successful automatic-update testing with no issues; the exact
platform/version pair has not yet been recorded. Windows Sandbox testing is
postponed at the owner's request.
The complete installed-update matrix on Windows x64, macOS Apple Silicon and
Linux x64 remains pending, including library/settings preservation and official
next-release discovery/download/install (#256).
The clean Windows Sandbox 0.4.3 baseline failed startup because its system runtime
was missing; 0.4.4 adds prerequisite guidance before installation.
For complete release details and commit history, see CHANGELOG.md.

Omera v0.4.1
Theme Contrast & Design Tokens Unification, Aggregated Facet Counts & High-Load Performance Caching
Version 0.4.1 is a maintenance and performance patch release fixing theme contrast issues across dark and light modes, unifying semantic design tokens, aggregating filter/tag statistics into single-pass database queries, and caching distinct metadata models and samplers to eliminate CPU overhead under heavy library load:
🎨 Theme Design Tokens & Contrast Unification (#177, #178)
- Eliminate Hardcoded Colors: Replaced all hardcoded dark and light hex values across
SortBar.vue,TitleBar.vue,SettingsModal.vue,TagModal.vue,AlbumModal.vue, and form controls with semantic CSS custom properties (--color-text-primary,--color-text-secondary,--color-bg-surface,--color-bg-hover,--color-bg-card,--color-border-subtle). - TitleBar Version Visibility: Resolved muted version subtitle contrast in Light mode, ensuring crisp readability across all operating systems.
- Select & Dropdown Contrast: Fixed native
<option>background and text contrast across custom select inputs in light mode to prevent unreadable white-on-white text. - Automated Theme Regression Test: Added comprehensive theme contrast tests in
tests/theme-contrast.test.mjsverifying design token adherence across all components.
⚡ High-Load Facet Aggregation & In-Memory Caching (#180)
- Single-Query Library Summary Counts: Replaced separate queries with a unified SQLite query calculating total files, favorites, and NSFW flags simultaneously (
SELECT COUNT(*), COALESCE(SUM(is_favorite), 0), COALESCE(SUM(is_nsfw), 0) FROM files), cutting startup and navigation IPC latency. - Aggregated Tag Counts: Replaced potential N+1 tag frequency lookups with an indexed
GROUP BY tag_idaggregation (get_tag_counts), directly displaying counts on Sidebar and TagModal chips. - Distinct Models & Samplers Facet Cache: Added thread-safe
RwLockin-memory caching forlist_distinct_modelsandlist_distinct_samplers, eliminating repetitive full-table JSON parsing across 50,000+ files on repeated drawer opens. Cache is automatically invalidated upon folder scan completion. - Sidebar & Tag Badges: Added live count badges for Favorites and Sensitive navigation items, as well as file count indicators on tag chips.
For complete release details and commit history, see CHANGELOG.md.
