Music Apps starts paused - no possibility to start\stop playback from the car

I’m writing this knowing that app development might have stopped (no complaints here — Hufman, I’ll always be grateful for this beautiful app).

I’ve been having a small issue for some time, which I never noticed in older versions of MyBMW / AAIdrive. Basically, when I start the car, the last music app used opens as usual, but playback stays “paused” and no longer starts automatically like it used to.

let's say that sometimes works as intented, sometimes app is loaded but playpack is "paused" - 3 times out of 10 works correctly, while some time ago it always restarted automatically

for this reason, I also realized that it seems impossible to pause or play a song directly from the car — I never needed to before, since playback always started automatically and stopped when the car was turned off. Now, the only way to start playback (if starts in a "paused" mode) is by manually pressing play on the phone.

I always use Musicolet as my MP3 player, but AIMP behaves the same way. Any suggestions?

Thanks for writing in! Nothing related to playback control has changed for a long time. The behavior should be that selecting any music app in the car (or the Media button, which secretly clicks on the selected music app) will ask the (IDrive5+) car to focus on AAIdrive, and the car will send pause and play commands automatically. For example, when pushing the car's volume button to mute the music, the car will send a pause command to AAIdrive, and pushing it again to unmute should send a play command. I don't know any reason that the car would stop sending play commands to AAIdrive. Does the Spotify or Audioplayer icon show the checkbox, indicating that the car is focusing on AAIdrive?

In IDrive4, without audio focus support, AAIdrive just automatically plays the music app as soon as it is selected and trusts that the user has selected the Bluetooth input source.

MyBMW is not involved in this step, so any version difference there should not matter.
