I can already tell you that the dmg installer won't work as is. I suggested earlier switching to a pkg installer so that it can rewrite the path prefix as a post install step. Another option is to append some code in the setup script that goes in the dmg to detect the path at runtime. Because it is only for Mac OS, it is an easier problem.
