Recent Features/Improvements

Hi @CEXT-Dan , I haven't been following your work closely lately. I've read the commits and they sound interesting, but I'm not sure I understand everything. Could you describe what you're currently working on and what features you've recently added?

Sure, basically adding tools to add user parameters to dynamic blocks. These classes, like Db.BlockUserParameter are hidden from the API, but I found a way to wrap them at a .DWG level. I only have it enabled for AutoCAD at the moment, it’s tedious work as I have to examine every bit.. here's an example

from pyrx import Ap, Ax, Db, Ed, Ge, Gs, Gi
import traceback

@Ap.Command()
def doit0():
    try:
        # 1. Get the dynamic block name from the user
        ps, blkname = Ed.Editor.getString("\nEnter dynamic block name: ")
        if ps != Ed.PromptStatus.eOk:
            raise RuntimeError("Prompt status failed: {}".format(ps))

        db = Db.curDb()
        bt = Db.BlockTable(db.blockTableId())

        if not bt.has(blkname):
            raise RuntimeError("Block not found: {}".format(blkname))

        blkid = bt.getAt(blkname)
        btr = Db.BlockTableRecord(blkid)
        edict = Db.Dictionary(btr.extensionDictionary())

        if edict.has("ACAD_ENHANCEDBLOCK"):
            graphid = edict.getAt("ACAD_ENHANCEDBLOCK")
            graph = Db.EvalGraph(graphid, Db.OpenMode.kForWrite)
        else:
            raise RuntimeError("Block {} is not Dynamic".format(blkname))

        networkId = Db.AssocNetwork.getInstanceFromObject(blkid, True, True, "")
        network = Db.AssocNetwork(networkId, Db.OpenMode.kForWrite)

        newvar = Db.AssocVariable()
        newvar.setName("Slope_Factor", False)
        newvar.setValue(Db.EvalVariant(10.00))
        newvar.setEvaluatorId("AcDbCalc:1.0")
        newvar.setDescription("Calculates height variants based on slope run.")

        varId = db.addObject(newvar)
        network.addAction(varId, True)
        newvar.downgradeOpen() # or close

        param = Db.BlockUserParameter()
        param.setAssocVarId(varId)
        param.setShowProperties(True) #this is default
        param.setParameterType(Db.UserParameterType.kAngle)
        nodeid = graph.addNode(param)

        #graph.evaluate() not needed here

        print("yay Node ID:", nodeid, "Param Node ID:", param.nodeId())

    except Exception as err:
        traceback.print_exception(err)
