2022 Data

The v2.11 version includes information for the year 2022. Check out the Data_sources.md file to see the latest year for each data point. Note that the 2022 classifications have been updated, due to the update in Statistics Canada's side.

International imports

The origin of international imports now reflects provincial differences, while in previous versions, the amount of imported goods was adapted to provinces, but the origin was only national.

Endogenization of capitals

The endogenization was redone completely. Instead of endogenizing the gross fixed capital formation, we now endogenize the consumption of fixed capital, as recommended in the Eurostat handbook.

Exiobase 3.9

OpenIO-Canada can now operate with the versions 3.9(s) of exiobase. However, we do not recommend to rely on versions 3.9.4, 3.9.5 and 3.9.6 of exiobase. There are significant mistakes in the modeling of the mining sector worldwide that completely overestimates the carbon footprint of Canada.

Fixes

It was impossible to generate results for years previous to 2016, due to issues with the plastics indicators. Now it's fixed.

Documentation

A complete methodology document was added to really support understanding of how openIO-Canada operates.
