User Requirements Terminology

Key Term Definition
Accept A user action that grants permission to another user's request to follow
Attribute A characteristic ascribed to a vibe event
Decline A user action that denies another user's request to follow them
Emoticon A picture representation of a vibe
Filter A way of sorting/organizing vibe history provided some specification
Follow A user action that results in a user subscribing to another user's most recent vibe/vibe history
Follower A user that follows another user
Location A particular place or position relating to where a user experienced a Vibe
Mandatory An attribute that is required to be given for a vibe
Map The graphical interface that displays vibe event
Optional An attribute that is not required to be given for a vibe
Participant A university student or staff member
Permission A user action that allows another user to be a follower
Profile A user account linked to a username
Reason The set of conditions that cause a vibe to be felt
Request A user action that notifies another user about wanting to follow them, for which the user may accept or decline
Sharing A user action that displays a vibe to a user's followers (i.e. posting a vibe)
Social Situation The number of people involved in the vibe
Trigger The occurrence of a vibe being felt due to a reason (i.e. a social situation)
User A participant that uses Vybe to assist in understanding the vibes and triggers of individuals and groups
Username The unique vibe ID provided by a user
Vibe The current state of mind and emotion felt by a participant during an event; with respect to the User Requirements, a vibe is synonymous with an emotional state
Vibe Event A structured post that contains a vibe, the current date and time, and (optional) trigger of said vibe and location relating to said vibe; with respect to the User Requirements, a vibe event is synonymous with a mood event
Vibe History A list of vibe events containing a user's previously posted vibe events and the most recent vibes posted by participants the user follows; with respect to the User Requirements, vibe history is synonymous with mood history

Angry Red A strong uncomfortable and hostile response to a perceived provocation, hurt or threat
Disgusted Green Profound dislike or annoyance caused by something sickening or offensive
Happy Yellow Enjoying, showing, or marked by pleasure, satisfaction, or joy
Sad Gray Affected by unhappiness or grief; sorrowful or mournful
Scared Blue An unpleasant or disturbing feeling caused by the presence or imminence of danger
Surprised Orange To cause to feel wonder, astonishment, or amazement, as at something unanticipated
Vibeless Purple Devoid of or not subject to emotion or expressionless; used as the default vibe selected
