User Requirements Terminology

Key Terms Definitions
Participant A university student or staff member
User A participant that uses Vybe to assist in understanding the emotional states and triggers of individuals and groups
Mood A (temporary) state of mind and emotion 😌
Trigger The occurrence of a Mood being felt due to a reason (i.e. a social situation)
Mood Event A structured post that contains a Mood, trigger of said Mood, the current date, time and (optional) location of the post
Attribute A characteristic ascribed to a mood event
Mandatory An attribute that is required to be given for a mood event
Optional An attribute that is not required to be given for a mood event
Mood Details The individual attributes that define a mood event, both optional and mandatory
Emotional State The current mood felt by a participant during an event
Reason The set of conditions that cause a mood to be felt
Social Situation The number of people involved in the Mood Event
Emoticons A picture representation of an emotional state
Several A social situation referring to 3 to 5 people
Crowd A social situation referring to more than several people (i.e. more than 5)
View Reading the details of a Mood Event
Profile A user account linked to a username
Username The unique Vybe ID provided by a user
Mood History A list of mood events containing a user's previously posted moods and the most recent mood events posted by participants the user follows
Filter A way of sorting/organizing Mood History provided some specification
Follow A user action that results in a user subscribing to another user's most recent mood/mood history
Follower A user that follows another user
Permission A user action that allows another user to be a follower
Sharing A user action that displays a mood event to a user's followers (i.e. posting a mood event)
Decline A user action that denies another user's request to follow them
Request A user action that notifies another user about wanting to follow them, for which the user may accept or decline
Accept A user action that grants permission to another user's request to follow
Location A particular place or position relating to where a user experienced a mood event
Map The graphical interface that displays mood details
