| Key Terms | Definitions |

| Accept | A user action that grants permission to another user's request to follow |
| Attribute | A characteristic ascribed to a Vibe |
| Crowd | A social situation referring to more than several people (i.e. more than 5) |
| Decline | A user action that denies another user's request to follow them |
| Emoticons | A picture representation of an emotional state |
| Emotional State | The current mood felt by a participant during an event |
| Filter | A way of sorting/organizing Mood History provided some specification |
| Follow | A user action that results in a user subscribing to another user's most recent mood/mood history |
| Follower | A user that follows another user |
| Location | A particular place or position relating to where a user experienced a Vibe |
| Mandatory | An attribute that is required to be given for a Vibe |
| Map | The graphical interface that displays mood details |
| Mood Details | The individual attributes that define a Vibe, both optional and mandatory |
| Mood Event | An object that contains a Mood, trigger of said Mood, the current date, time and (optional) location relating to said Mood |
| Mood History | A list of Vibes containing a user's previously posted moods and the most recent Vibes posted by participants the user follows |
| Mood | A (temporary) state of mind and emotion 😌 |
| Optional | An attribute that is not required to be given for a Vibe |
| Participant | A university student or staff member |
| Permission | A user action that allows another user to be a follower |
| Profile | A user account linked to a username |
| Reason | The set of conditions that cause a mood to be felt |
| Request | A user action that notifies another user about wanting to follow them, for which the user may accept or decline |
| Several | A social situation referring to 3 to 5 people |
| Sharing | A user action that displays a Vibe to a user's followers (i.e. posting a Vibe) |
| Social Situation | The number of people involved in the Vibe |
| Trigger | The occurrence of a Mood being felt due to a reason (i.e. a social situation) |
| User | A participant that uses Vybe to assist in understanding the emotional states and triggers of individuals and groups |
| Username | The unique Vybe ID provided by a user |
| Vibe | A structured post that represents a Mood Event |
| View | Reading the details of a Vibe |
