As an addition to normal Limited formats (Draft, Sealed, Jumpstart) as in-game events, I think it would be neat if there was an event that had players pick from various “Starter” level decks and duel against other such deck. Would function similarly to a Jumpstart, but the player only selects one of the given decks. Likely best broken into multiple “sets” rather than throwing decks from different decades against each other. Balance wise these have a couple of bulk rares, some usable uncommons and a bunch of chaff but generally work for a unified gameplan, so are relatively similar to Jumpstart packets.
Defining “starter” decks may be a bit nebellous, but the 41 PW decks would easily form a “set”. The original run of theme decks is also another one (or multiple), as will be the modern ones once a few more are released. Maybe some of the starting decks from video game (DotP, Arena)?
Would use bronze or silver challenge coins. As an example of potential rewards, 1 win would give not for sale copy of deck, 2 would give that and challenge coin/entry fee, and 3 would give a for sale copy of the deck (in addition to the not for sale copy)
