Installation Guide

First things first - Make sure Sol is correctly installed. Sol installation tutorial: HERE

For installation and gaming flexibility, RSS-Origin 2 features: (Strikethrough means not implemented ATM)

  • 2 installation methods - CKAN / Manual
  • 3 forms of package - General Pack / Mission Pack / Standalone Pack

Installation via CKAN is highly recommended.

Package structure:

RSS-Origin 2 uses a Core pack + Optional packs structure.

There are 3 forms of optional packs: General Pack / Mission Pack / Standalone Pack. Detailed information about these 3 package forms can be found [here].

The Core Pack is necessary regardless of the form of optional pack. Mission Packs conflict with General Packs and Standalone Packs that contain celestial bodies also present in the Mission Pack.

Install via CKAN:

Install RSS-Origin 2 via CKAN requires install Sol via CKAN beforehand. Sol installation via CKAN tutorial: HERE

Text tutorial:

First, import metadata - this step should have been completed if you have installed Sol via CKAN:

Open CKAN, go to Settings → CKAN Settings.
Under "Metadata Repositories", click "New".
At the bottom of the "Add Repository" list, select "Sol".
Click "Add".
Close the CKAN settings window.

After that, search for "RSS-Origin 2", select "RSS-Origin 2 - Core" and install.

Then, you'll want to select your favored optional packs, hit apply, and done.

Manual installation:

First, download the latest version of RSS-Origin 2 - Core. (Clicking on the hyperlinked text will lead you to the download page)

Then, choose the optional packs below:

After downloading, select all ZIPs, right click, click "Unzip to current folder", a new folder named "GameData" should appear in the same folder as all ZIPs. Move the folder "RSSOrigin2" inside that "GameData" folder to your local Kerbal Space Program/GameData, and done.
