This page contains precautions, suggestions and other technical details for using RSS-Origin 2, as well as some known issues that cannot be resolved at the moment.
...
As RSS-Origin 2 adds up to 248 extra celestial bodies to Sol system, plus 51 celestial bodies from Sol system, the total number reaches 299, which may cause lags to your game during acceleration and slows scene switching, or even affects fps of normal gameplay. Given that, you might not want to install all celestials at once, especially when playing with Principia.
Each celestial or celestial system is placed in a separate folder...
You can add or remove celestial folders according to your own needs to ensure the smoothness of your gameplay...
- Celestials with radius under 409m will trigger a rendering bug, for example Bennu (radius 245m), Itokawa (radius 162m). This issue had been seen in RSS-Origin. To avoid this issue in RSS-Origin 2, a ScaleFix multiplier has been applied to those celestials as a temporary evasion.
- After installing a large number of celestials without Principia, in map view, the game will become laggy due to too much orbit lines rendered. RSS-Origin 2's in-game Orbit Plotter is able to solve this problem.
- After installing a large number of celestials with Principia, when the Plotting Frame Selection interface is fully expanded, the game will become extremely laggy. Reducing the number of expanded celestials or closing the interface can solve this problem.
- There may be some bugs for unknown reasons when attempting to transfer between some small asteroids and their moons (passing through SOI). Switching to the tracking station and then switch back to the vessel can solve this problem.
