Recall Score 2026.1.50
- Introduced looping mode in playback settings (Control+L): play to end, play loop once, or play loop until stopped
- Fixed a looping playback restart that could clip the last note short at slow tempos with long loops: the restart is now driven by the sequencer actually reaching the end of the loop rather than a timer predicted a whole iteration ahead
- Changed Performance Report to Control+Shift+F so Playback Settings can be Control+Shift+P. Removed duplicate Control+T shortcut.
- Added a Bar Line Indicator (Options menu, above Toggle Metronome, Control+B): a high metronome beep when arrow-key navigation crosses a bar line. Saved per score, defaults off, spoken on toggle, and silent while the metronome is already on.
Recall Score 2026.1.47
Changes since 2026.1.31.
Finding things in a score
- Comprehensive Find — anything in a score that is not a plain note, rest or lyric can now be found: attributes on a note (ties, slurs, tuplets, fermatas, articulations, techniques, fingerings, chord symbols and more) and structural markings (repeats, endings, pedal and octave lines, rehearsal marks, barline and clef changes, dynamics and tempo instructions). Press
Ctrl+Fto choose a target, thenAlt+Right/Alt+Leftto step through occurrences from anywhere in the window. Where it helps, you can narrow to a particular value, and every choice shows how many times it occurs.
Ultimate Guitar import
- Reworked import and a rebuilt strumming tool: a song's strumming pattern (or several) is shown slot-by-slot in Tools > Strumming Patterns… (
Ctrl+Shift+U) with looped demo playback, rather than as hard-to-follow strummed chord audio. - Section labels (
[Verse],[Chorus], …) are recognised:Ctrl+Alt+Right/Ctrl+Alt+Leftjump between sections, and the current section, chord and lyric are shown at the top of the Performance region. - ASCII-tablature "Tab" pages can now be imported, not just chords pages — the tab comes in as a Tablature part whose notes carry real string and fret numbers and play back.
Playback
- Preview and playback are now one thing: a single Play control, one Play Settings dialog, and an absolute playback tempo. Looping and the lead-in count-in are settings on that one model.
- The metronome can be played on its own, without the score, with
Ctrl+Alt+Space. - The metronome click no longer sounds when moving up and down within a chord.
- Slower / default / faster tempo keys now announce the new tempo.
- Fixed a looping passage of triplets restarting slightly out of time.
Performance markings
- Crescendo and diminuendo hairpins are reported accurately in the Performance Report and Performance region: gathered from every part, overlapping and nested hairpins each shown with their own range, and a hairpin with a missing start or end stated as such rather than dropped.
- Plain-text instructions such as "cresc.", "dim." and "rall." now appear in the Dynamics and Tempo instruction lists and are reachable with Find.
Tuner
- The tuner now auto-detects the pitch you play — no instrument or string list to pick from first — and its reference-pitch, microphone and sensitivity settings moved into a dialog opened from the tuner itself.
Menus, navigation and screen-reader behaviour
- New top-level Parts menu, with the Instruments, Reorder Parts and mute/solo actions gathered into it.
- File > Close unloads a score and returns the app to its just-opened state without quitting.
- Disabled menu items are now announced as unavailable rather than skipped over.
- Typing a bar number and pressing Enter to jump to it works from any region or the status bar, not only the Note region.
- Voice control gained "back" / "forward" (and left/right arrow) synonyms for the previous/next commands.
- Reorder Attributes and Reorder Parts dialogs announce their button shortcuts correctly and keep focus where you expect it after a move.
- Grace notes read as "main note, grace, ornament note" — the main note first.
- Various internal refactoring and code-review fixes.
