Context

Track completion and rollout for RFC 0013 (Daemon Mode and Profile Scheduling).

Goal

Run profile-based backups on a schedule via a long-lived local agent/daemon with clear job state, logging, and operator controls.

Scope

• Daemon/agent lifecycle and command surface.
• Schedule model and persistence for profile jobs.
• Job execution, status reporting, and failure handling.
• Documentation and operational guidance for local background use.

Explicitly out of scope

• A hosted/cloud control plane.
• Replacing manual ad hoc CLI backups.

Exit criteria

• Scheduled profile jobs can be created, run, inspected, and stopped reliably.
• Daemon lifecycle is documented for supported platforms.
• Failure modes and retries are clear and actionable.
