Context

Track completion and rollout for RFC 0014 (Workstation Onboarding and Profile Scaffolding).

Goal

Make first-run workstation backup setup fast and opinionated by guiding users through source selection, store setup, and profile scaffolding.

Scope

• Guided onboarding flow for workstation-oriented setup.
• Profile/store scaffolding and safe defaults.
• Reuse of existing profile/auth/store capabilities behind the onboarding UX.
• Documentation and examples for workstation bootstrap flows.

Explicitly out of scope

• Background scheduling implementation itself (RFC 0013).
• Non-workstation enterprise fleet orchestration.

Exit criteria

• A new user can complete a recommended workstation setup without manually stitching together multiple commands.
• Generated configuration is reviewable and compatible with existing profile workflows.
• Docs explain onboarding assumptions, defaults, and follow-up steps.
