Thanks for the report — this is fixed on the next RC (rc.6).

Root cause: The Dashboard's Update and Update All buttons were calling the container update API directly without wiring into the toast notification system. The Containers view had success toasts, but the Dashboard never did — so updating from the Dashboard gave zero visual feedback on success.

What changed:

• Dashboard single-container and bulk updates now show a success toast ("Updated: name" / "Updated N containers")
• If the container is already up to date when the request reaches the backend, you'll now see an info toast ("Already up to date: name") instead of silent nothing
• 155 new/updated tests covering both paths

Please verify on rc.6 when it's available.

This has been addressed in the upcoming RC with fixes across multiple layers:

• Dashboard update tracking was keyed incorrectly — the success notification was being matched against the wrong container reference, so it never resolved as "complete" (c81e25a8)
• Container rename race condition — when Docker updates a container, it renames the old one before creating the new one. The success event was being emitted against the renamed container, causing the UI to miss it. This is now preserved across the rename (6b5c1f72, also fixes Updated Successfully notification not received consistently #290)
• Unified dashboard update-start semantics — the dashboard widget now uses the same update flow as the containers view, so toast notifications are consistent regardless of where you trigger the update (c9f21a7b, also fixes Updating container displayed an "updated" green alert and not "updating" alert (this alert was missing) when updating from the dashboard #291)

The next RC will be out shortly — please test updating containers from both the containers view and the dashboard widget and confirm you see the full Updating → Updated notification flow.
