Cell content not seen with a double click on a chart

After having setup that stuff I can confirm this using KPIs_4.ods. NOTE: I had no line like '::setenv("DISABLE_SYSTEM_DEPENDENT_PRIMITIVE_RENDERER", "1", 1);' in my /home/alg/lo/collabora-online/kit/Kit.cpp, but could add it close to 'UNODISABLELIBRARY' to see that then it works.

After experimenting a while I made a very simple testdoc: New Calc, one cell (B2) with text, inserted (empty) chart using menu, safe. When using with COOL and activating the chart the whole Calc document rendering 'behind' the activated chart is not drawn but shown as 'deactivated' with that overlay color thing -> Has nothing to do with text rendering, is a more general problem in COOL with OLE activation.

The missing paint is A0 to F15, the rest looks painted (need to add text after that bounds). The activated chart looks good -> that one uses DL paint (and thus CAIROSdpr).

Line16 is the last shown (missing top.line), ColumnG is the last shown (missing left line). Looks like this:

Have added B3 with some text and RED BG to debug if and where that gets painted. It's in drawCells in sc/source/ui/view/output.cxx at if(pOldBackground). Compared, both paints do the same with the same coordinates.

Then tried to dump the repaint after that (at the end of ScGridWindow::DrawContent) using vcl::PngImageWriter to "/tmp/COOLBG_a.png" but does not work -> probably due to being in a sandbox/safe env, could that be changed (?)

Due to that could not ensure that the paint does indeed do the required stuff - sigh. I currently assume that somewhere a region is painted over all that using that 'deactivated' color. Ther is no deactivated color/paint in regular LO, so may be the reason that only in COOL version that happens...?

@caolanm Hmm, do we have some established trick in the kit process so in case C++ code writes debug files into /tmp, then it's visible from the outside? I guess it's easier for @alalg to debug the problem if that's provided.

The "/tmp" inside the kit is mounted from jails/Something/tmp/cool-some-jailid. Simplest is probably: find jails -name "*.png"

My /home/alg/lo/collabora-online/jails is empty - or where do you guess that is to be searched for...?
Ah - got it - only for runtime. it's jails/248542-94ba68be/tmp/cool-v9WVHIMscXG6VFM7/COOLBG_a.png :-)
Maybe - when the logs get saved there and - I assume - moved to /tmp* at shutdown - maybe also move *.png...?

The jail gets removed when you close the document, so yes, good to save valuable data before you close the document.

FWIW, the current directory of the kit process is '/' by default, so if try to write to the current directory, that will be read-only. /tmp is meant to be read-write. E.g. if I write a 'nodes.xml' to /tmp, then from the outside I see it from "the outside" as ./jails/8397-293220b0/tmp/cool-H6Yx4PgbnSvACToe/nodes.xml.

Checked ScGridWindow::DrawContent enter/leave, both situations draw the correct stuff AFAICT when dumping the OutDev content. Started to look for how and where that 'inactive' state is draw/done, does anyone know more about that? I do not (yet) know too much about that COOL stuff, may even be on the COOL side...?

Another note: due to the dumping needing time you can even see when activating the chart that it first looks correct, then gets changed again - some blinking happening...
