CoreTrace Wiki

This wiki documents CoreTrace behavior from the current codebase (as-is), including known limitations.

Reading Paths

I want to use CoreTrace (client)

  1. Client CLI Guide — options, exit codes, SARIF, config file
  2. Client HTTP API Reference — server mode, run_analysis, verdict

I want to develop or extend CoreTrace (developer)

  1. Developer Build and Configuration — CMake, dependencies, CI, configuration precedence
  2. Developer Architecture and Extensibility — execution flow, diagnostic model, adding a tool

Sources of Truth

The wiki explains behavior; two references in the repository are generated from or kept next to the code and are authoritative:

  • ctrace --help — the option list, generated from the option table in src/App/Config.cpp.
  • docs/configuration.md — the full configuration schema: type, default, allowed values, impact and CLI equivalent for every key.

Documentation Policy

  • Source of truth is the implementation in coretrace, not assumptions.
  • Known inconsistencies are documented explicitly.
  • No behavior is "smoothed" in docs: if it is limited in code, it is stated as limited.
