Definition: Official name of the organization.

@jeannekitchens The proposal is technically sufficient as shown above and will do for a quick addition; it is modelled closely on ceterms:name and schema:legalName. We should consider what would be the policy around usage and what guidance we might add.

Q: if the legal name is also the common name should both ceterms:name and ceterms:legalName be provided? That would effectively make legalName a required property, which might be difficult in retrospect but we need to know when ceterms:name is the legalName; so:
Q: should legalName be mandatory if the value for ceterms:name is not the legal name? I think so.

Q: do we need any clarifying comment?

I suggest also adding something like:

Comment: An officially registered company name would be a legal name and may differ from the commonly used name that may be entered for ceterms:name.
Usage Note: If the legal name is different from the data provided for ceterms:name then the legal name must be provided using this property.

@philbarker I think the definition could be more direct. Names can include both and for the IIR we'll encourage that. They can also publish ceterms:alternateName
