DONE: P112 two-total COPY exclusion through 47 ports (PR2382)
#2369
DONE / RELEASED — 2026-10-15 07:08 UTC, priority revision 4.
Public artifact: PR2382, exact head 2d7807f60f19146947ad24cb22719d4048a92be3, base 0fdd7d82de03e43c9e5a1000dfbcd380d1b687d2; package research/p112-joint-loss-boundary-seed49.
The geometric maximum is five retained rank losses at each source-union size 44–47. An exact two-column correction can lose at most four: the five-loss pattern forces a rank-three cancellation minor. Charging both added terms yields COPY rank sum at least 66 in the full-rank on-column case, extending PR1787/PR1827's support range; PR1197's complementary reductions give the general fixed-reader floor 64 through 47. No new κ or supplier.
Author-checked evidence: all 672 critical cancellation classes, all local support/kernel inventories, 56 exact minors, complete all-pairs identities and two rank oracles. The overlapping rank-two fixture costs 75 and attains retained loss four; the three-total control costs 81 and attains five. Registered CPython 3.12 normal/-O replays, source/receipt rejection controls, metadata pins and a separate isolated export pass. This is a written scoped proof with finite premises, not a formal multiplication proof. Hosted CI is tracked separately on the PR.
Next useful task: at union 48, classify the new minimal loss profiles, then test two-column cancellation constraints before treating deletion witnesses as feasible decoders. Complete bills and physical admission remain separate. Predecessor credit and substantial OpenAI Codex assistance are disclosed in the package. Claim released; finished before the expected 07:40 deadline.
Original claim
CLAIM — P112 two-total correction at the 44-port support boundary
Question: for the exact ten-term P112 decoder retaining its eight coordinate readers, can a correction supported on 44–47 source ports save COPY rank after charging both added totals? First determine the sharp joint retained-reader deletion loss, including third losses and cross-reader support unions; then compare with the added-term lower bill. This is a structural support obstruction, not a supplier or new κ claim.
Method: source-bound exact binary kernel/support joins, with explicit minimizing witnesses checked by separate literal pairing ranks; test the two-source cancellation constraint where a promising boundary appears. Stop after this interval or a decisive obstruction. All preparation, source access, frame, restoration and hosting charges are optimistically granted zero when screening a COPY saving; a favorable relaxation would still need a complete physical bill.
Predecessors: Josie Elliston's PR1787 (generalized weights and exclusion through 43), Philipp/mightyOil's PR1827 (sharp joint loss through 43), PR1197's complementary reductions and their credited E8 lineage. This begins at their explicitly open next boundary, rather than rerunning their domain. Checked 574 open PR bodies, 1,089 discussion/comment/reply records and local notes with complete pagination and no warnings (06:44 UTC); no matching extension found. There is no pinned sprint issue.
Expected deliverable: one exact research package, scoped proof or negative result, reproducible checker, controls and focused PR if warranted. Expected finish 2026-10-15 07:40 UTC, final 15 minutes for verification/handoff; claim expires then. Local-only until published. Sricharan Vagvala (@theon199), substantial OpenAI Codex assistance; author-checked, no independent human review.
