Allow notes manual sorting

Notes manual sorting (by means of drag and drop) could be very convenient.

Additional context

1. This can be implemented as a separate "Manual sorting" mode.
2. Such sorting is more convenient and flexible than just "pinning" the notes.

Of course that would be a nice option, but do you think you would really use this feature often? Its quite a lot more effort to implement than the current sorting options and for most people Sort by Last Modified Descending will be the way to go, since this simply keeps the most recently used notes on top, or simply sort by title. Together with pinning notes that gives a lot of options already.

Also there are some minor details, like e.g. if you create new note, where would it be sorted to? The top?
I'm also not sure what the best way to implement the drag an drop would be, because currently you use the long click on a note to select it/use multi-select, if we add drag and drop to it it could become quite annoying/unclear to the user how to different these actions.

Of course I can live without this feature and it can be (more or less) be replaced by pinning and sorting. I just found it most convenient in case you need to set some kind of "priorities" for the notes. Today I will need to check some notes more often so I put them to the top, tomorrow some other notes will be needed more so I can elevate them. Setting the order of the notes freely gives you the most flexibility.

Such functionality was implemented, for example, in this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gcteam.tonote, I used it quite often in the past. I understand that it could be difficult to implement this but if not (or not really) please consider to add it in the future if you have time.

I guess it depends on the sorting mode user selected. In "manual sorting" mode you can drag and drop the notes. For other sorting modes ("Last modified" etc) drag and drop is disabled.

I'd like this option to manually sort my pinned notes.

I sort my notes by Name Ascending, but some pin notes are more important to me than others and I want them at top but I can't.

I am currently evaluating introducing a "manual" notes order by adding a drag'n'drop to the notes.
Still having some issues to make it run smoothly and not interfere with the notes selection mode and all.
Will probably also move the Notes order setting from the "Settings" view to the top right bar, next to the search icon

Hi there, just wanted to give an update on the implementation.

Right now I have implemented a manual sort mode, where you can drag and drop notes to reorder them, or if you selected multiple notes moving them via up and down arrows.This includes both pinned and unpinned notes.

What gives me a bit of a headache is that I'm pretty sure people will also want to have different sort modes for pinned and unpinned notes. E.g. they want to manually sort the pinned notes but the unpinned should be sorted by modification date or similar. For that I would have to break up the notes list into 2 separate lists (pinned and unpinned). Also what about labels view? Do people want to have different sort modes for individual label's views?
But maybe all that can be postponed for a later improvement.

Currently it looks like this:

• For the first time the user selects manual sort mode it will initialize the sort order based on the previously selected sort mode
• When action mode is active I moved the delete and label buttons to the floating action buttons, since it was kinda weird that if multiple notes are selected the action buttons still stay the create new note/list actions

It looks cool now. Of course everything can be enhanced but I guess it can be implemented step by step, if users have requests for it.

In my opinion all that is needed is manual sorting of pinned notes so their position remains anchored and not moving around with each edit because most users sort by descending modified.

Manually sorting regular notes seems OCD.
