Why is there a macOS version included in Releases if it doesn't work?

There are several issues open years old on the macOS version, from people not knowing how to make an unsigned app launch to it crashing immediately upon launching, and it seems like there is hostility towards a macOS version existing unless you compile it yourself.

I'm just curious what's actually going on since it seems people on macOS are mostly being ignored or told to do things that make it difficult for the average person.
