For refresh, reinstall, uninstall, command, profile (except list):
| Flag | Action |
|---|---|
--gui |
the dialog in a graphical window instead of the terminal |
-y, --yes
|
run without confirmation |
Every command except browser and help first shows what it is going to do and waits for
confirmation.
Without a terminal (a script, cron) and without -y, nothing is done: what would be done is
printed, with the command to run with -y; exit code 1.
reinstall and uninstall don't run while Firefox is running; for profile, see
Profiles.
Tab completes myfox's commands (with their descriptions in zsh and fish), flags and their values,
and profile IDs for myfox profile …. MyFox 1.3.0 or newer sets it up itself, and an older install
gets it with myfox refresh; it takes effect in a new shell:
| Shell | Where |
|---|---|
| bash |
~/.local/share/bash-completion/completions/myfox (needs the bash-completion package, which most distributions have) |
| fish | ~/.local/share/fish/vendor_completions.d/myfox.fish |
| zsh |
_myfox in the first folder of your own in $fpath: in the home folder, writable, not in a plugin manager's git checkout (such as ~/.zsh/completions) |
zsh has no such folder by default. Without one, the install says so, and it is set up by hand: add
to ~/.zshrc, after compinit,
eval "$(myfox completion zsh)"or save the output of myfox completion zsh as _myfox in a folder of $fpath.
myfox completion --help describes this for every shell. A file of the same name that isn't
MyFox's is left alone. myfox uninstall removes the scripts it put there.
myfox reinstall replaces Firefox only once the new copy is fully downloaded, and applies the
tweaks again. The profile is not changed. Until the replacement the reinstall can be cancelled
(Cancel, Esc, closing the window, Ctrl+C with -y); the current Firefox then stays.
