Organization

CyberLauncher provides flexible organization tools: categories, favorites, taskbar, and drag-to-reorder.

Categories

Default Categories

Apps are automatically categorized:

Category Description
All All indexed apps and files
Favorites Pinned favorite apps
Recent Recently launched apps
Apps Installed applications
Files Indexed files and documents

Custom Categories

Create your own categories:

  1. Click Add Category
  2. Enter a name
  3. Choose a color
  4. Apps can be assigned to the category

Category Colors

Each category has a color:

  • Visual identification in the sidebar
  • Color-coded result badges
  • Custom color picker

Managing Categories

Action Description
Rename Right-click category → Rename
Delete Right-click category → Delete
Reorder Drag to reorder in sidebar
Edit color Change category color

Favorites

Adding Favorites

Pin apps for quick access:

  • Right-click app → Add to favorites
  • Or click the star icon on result card
  • Favorites appear at the top of results

Favorites Behavior

  • Favorites always rank first in search
  • Dedicated Favorites category
  • Persist across sessions
  • Sync across devices (via export/import)

Taskbar

Custom Taskbar

The bottom taskbar holds pinned apps:

  • Quick access to most-used apps
  • Always visible at the bottom
  • Drag to reorder

Taskbar Actions

Action Description
Pin Right-click app → Add to taskbar
Unpin Right-click taskbar item → Remove
Reorder Drag items to rearrange
Launch Click to open the app

Taskbar Settings

Setting Description
Show taskbar Toggle taskbar visibility
Taskbar icon Show app icon in taskbar

Drag and Drop

Adding Apps via Drag & Drop

Drag files from Explorer onto the launcher:

  • .exe files — Add as applications
  • .lnk files — Add as shortcuts
  • Folders — Add to indexed locations

Reordering

Drag to reorder:

  • Taskbar items
  • Category list
  • Favorites order

Panels

Sidebar

The left sidebar shows:

  • Category list
  • Favorites section
  • System status (RAM, CPU)
  • Clock and date

Resizable Panels

Drag panel edges to resize:

  • Sidebar width
  • Results area
  • Preview panel

Panel Settings

Setting Description
Sidebar width Adjust sidebar size
Show preview Toggle preview panel
Panel layout Configure panel arrangement

Import / Export

Export Configuration

Backup your setup:

  1. Go to Settings → Data → Export
  2. Choose save location
  3. Exports: categories, favorites, taskbar, settings

Import Configuration

Restore from backup:

  1. Go to Settings → Data → Import
  2. Select the export file
  3. All organization is restored

Export Format

  • JSON format
  • Human-readable
  • Can be edited manually
  • Shareable between machines
