Vegsnap v0.2.12

Vegsnap AI now offers a limited free allowance without a ChatGPT subscription or personal API key. Android also improves saved ChatGPT account management and adds private content reporting, while releases now include an Android App Bundle for Google Play.

What's changed

• Add Vegsnap AI on Android and in the browser extension. Connect through browser verification, then use the limited daily free allowance for product checks. Selected input is sent through the Vegsnap service on Cloudflare to OpenAI; temporary sessions and usage counters enforce the allowance. (#22)
• Improve ChatGPT sign-in, reconnecting and saved account management. Preserve the current session while changing accounts, show verified email labels, support confirmed removal of saved accounts, and cancel queued ChatGPT work before switching. Connected AI is used automatically when local evidence cannot answer; Offline mode remains the network gate. (#22)
• Let Android users report AI output and community replies inside the app, review and redact report text, and block or restore individual replies locally. Add a private moderation queue and contribution rules with required acceptance.
• Correct Android's package ID to app.vegsnap, expand Android and Vegsnap AI privacy disclosures, and add English/German Play listing materials with refreshed store graphics.
• Publish a signed vegsnap.aab alongside the signed Android APK so the same release can be prepared for Google Play. The Google Play closed-test release has been submitted. Installation remains unavailable until Google completes its checks and approves the release.

Downloads and installation

To join the Google Play closed test, join the Vegsnap testers group, then opt in on Google Play with the same Google account. Installation becomes available after Google approves the test. Please stay opted in for at least 14 days, try the app and send feedback to gplay@d3sox.me.

Google Play and GitHub APKs use different signing keys. To switch between them, export your history, uninstall the current app and install the other version. Import your history and reconnect your AI provider. Exports do not include photos or credentials.

Vegsnap v0.2.10

Ingredient results now avoid duplicate unknown entries for ingredients already assessed. Releases also continue successfully while an older Chrome update awaits review.

What's changed

• Remove duplicate database ingredients marked as unknown when the same ingredient already has an established classification. Apply the fix to saved Android and extension results without another AI request, while preserving unresolved ingredients, ambiguous origins and conflicting evidence. Keep origin questions aligned with the remaining unresolved ingredients. (#19)
• Skip Chrome submission when an older version is still under review, preserving that review and allowing the release to succeed. Record the skipped version and retry instructions in the workflow summary; submit the latest release manually once the review finishes.

Android now lets you read reviewed manufacturer replies and share responses inside the app. The browser extension keeps local checks available when online data sharing is declined, and stable releases now submit updates to Firefox and Chrome stores automatically.
