Enabling hibernation in Ubuntu needs extra steps: https://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2021/08/enable-hibernate-ubuntu-21-10/

yeah i went through all these instructions and still hibernation:

• doesnt show up on power off options
• cannot be run with systemctl
• fwts test still shows 2/8 pass

Note: Needed to echo 259:3 | sudo tee /sys/power/resume to get the hibernate option to appear and work. Looks like the kernel isn't picking up the correct partition for resume.

@BeataZdunczyk This is true- only after choosing the correct partition did the Hibernate option appear in the Power drop-down list, and hibernation was executed correctly.
