This is the community roadmap for Voxis Live — a living list of what we're considering next, and a place for you to tell us what actually matters to you.

Note: nothing here is a promise or a dated commitment. It's a signal board. 👍 upvote the items you want, and reply with your use case — priorities are shaped by what the community asks for.

🔜 Being considered

Ideas we think are worth doing, roughly in order of how often they come up. Order is not a schedule.

• More spoken-voice languages on the free tier. Every one of the 79 targets is translated; a subset is currently spoken by a local voice. Expanding that set as suitable, commercially-licensed voices become available.
• Live dual-column captions. Show the original and the translation side by side, in real time, instead of the translation alone.
• File / URL input. Translate a local video file or a URL directly, without routing it through system audio playback.
• Post-session summary. An optional short summary of a saved session, on top of the raw transcript.

🤔 On the radar (harder / no timeline)

Bigger asks we take seriously but can't scope lightly:

• macOS support. The most-requested platform. The hard part isn't the UI — it's capturing system audio the way WASAPI does on Windows; macOS needs a different capture path entirely. On the radar, no timeline.
• An offline / on-device mode. Translation currently runs on a hosted cloud model, so an internet connection is required. A local engine is a real structural change (on-device speech-to-speech quality is the open question), not a quick toggle.

❌ Not planned

Being clear so nobody waits on these:

• Linux — no concrete plan; Windows and (maybe) macOS come first.
• A browser extension inside this repo — Voxis is a desktop system-audio engine by design. (A separate Voxis browser extension exists as its own product; it's not part of this codebase.)
