Getting Started

Prerequisites

• .NET 8.0 SDK
• SQL Server (LocalDB or full SQL Server instance)
• Visual Studio 2022 or VS Code

Installation

1. Clone the repository:

   git clone <repository-url>
   cd RealEstateManagementSystem

2. Update the connection string in appsettings.json:

   "ConnectionStrings": {
     "DefaultConnection": "Server=(localdb)\\mssqllocaldb;Database=RealEstateDB;Trusted_Connection=true;MultipleActiveResultSets=true"
   }

3. Run the application:

   dotnet run

4. The application will automatically:

   • Create the database if it doesn't exist
   • Run migrations
   • Seed initial data (admin user and sample properties)
   • Launch at http://localhost:5072 or https://localhost:7177

Default Admin Credentials

• Email: admin@realestate.com
• Password: Admin@123

Routing

The application is configured with the Home page (Home/Index) as the default starting point.

Default route configuration in Program.cs:

Database

The application uses Entity Framework Core with SQL Server. Migrations are included in the Migrations/ folder.

To create/update the database:

dotnet ef database update
