  • FAQ: Python and OS support, Windows long paths, output folder, netlsd build

  • docs: demos live in UPXO-demos; list only published notebooks; 3D conformal demo tet_mesh_v2p1_A

  • docs: remove pyvoro from mesh extra references pyvoro is being dropped from the mesh extra on upxo_library's dev branch (dead weight, no real dependents, a recurring Windows install headache). Updates the architecture, dependencies, FAQ, and home pages to list tetgen/gmsh only. Version.md's 1.2.1 description is left as-is -- that tagged release was already published to PyPI with pyvoro in its mesh extra, so its description stays historically accurate; this will get its own entry when v1.3.0 actually ships.

  • docs: add 2D Grain Structure Geometrification page; retire rasterio docs Why: no wiki page explained geometrification -- what polygonised_grain_structure (Technique A) and GrainManifold2D (Technique B) do, how each handles island grains, or how to choose between them -- despite it being covered only obliquely, by bare notebook filenames, on Meshing.md and Demo-Notebooks.md. Separately, Data-IO.md and four other pages described pxtal_ori_map_2d.py as a rasterio consumer and the [io] extra as still needed; both are now false (see the upxo_library rasterio-retirement commit). What: - New page 2D-Grain-Structure-Geometrification.md: both techniques' pipelines (four programmatically alignment-verified ASCII diagrams, not hand-typed -- pipeline position, Technique A stages, Technique B stages, island label-grid plus resulting polygons), island handling in each, raster_polygonize/raster_islands, a property comparison table (no hardcoded performance numbers -- points at confMesh2d_compare_techniques.ipynb instead, for the same reason its own stale numbers needed fixing), demo notebooks, source map, status notes. Linked from Meshing.md, Demo-Notebooks.md, 2D-Grain-Structure-Generation.md (as pipeline step 4), Architecture.md, Home.md, and _Sidebar.md. - Demo-Notebooks.md, Meshing.md: added confMesh2d_compare_techniques.ipynb, missing from both notebook catalogues. - Data-IO.md, Architecture.md, Dependencies.md, FAQ.md, Home.md: rasterio is not a UPXO dependency; the [io] extra and every rasterio row/mention removed, not just narrowed to "one legacy script". Verified: every internal link target is a real page; grepped the whole repo afterward for "rasterio" -- the only hits left are factual, past-tense statements that it is no longer a dependency.

  • docs: trim stale front-page and reference content across several pages Removed a few sentences and table rows that described tooling not part of this release's tracked codebase, and corrected a couple of other descriptions to match current reality.

  • Remove GUI Applications documentation The FM Steel 3D and Twinned FCC 3D wizard GUIs are no longer part of the distributed repository. Removes the dedicated GUI-Applications page and every reference to it (nav entries in Home/_Sidebar, Getting-started's interactive-GUI walkthrough, the per-pipeline "GUI application" sections on both Use-Cases pages, the GUI test-coverage entries on Testing, and the smaller incidental mentions across Architecture, 3D-Grain-Structure-Generation, Demo-Notebooks, Excel-Input-Dashboard, FAQ, Contributing, Parameter-Sweep-and-Ensembles, Representativeness-Assessment, Texture-and-Crystallography, Use-Cases, and Visualisation). Generic, still-accurate mentions (the pytest `gui` marker convention, the untracked local GUI hub, Pillow's role, a past changelog entry) are left as-is -- only content describing the two removed wizards specifically was changed.

  • Document double-click GUI launchers under guiLaunchers/ Recommend Launch_FM_Steel_GUI.bat and Launch_Twinned_FCC_GUI.bat on Windows; update GUI, Getting Started, FAQ, use cases, and 3D generation.

  • Add FAQ and Troubleshooting wiki page Cover install (Python 3.13, extras), dashboards, MCGS order, LFI vs lgi, EBSD/DefDAP, GUI/PyVista, meshing/export stubs, and support paths; link from sidebar, Home, and Getting Started.
