Spring 2026

Goals

  1. Start user testing on completed features, iterating front-end designs if needed.
  • 1.1 Create a schedule of which features to test first based on importance and completeness
  • 1.2 Write up a user testing document with specific completion tasks and timed tasks.
  • 1.3 Gather 5 participants (stakeholders) to conduct user interviews, ideally testing one feature per week.
  • 1.4 Analyze testing data to identify pain points and produce modified Figma Designs for front end team to implement.
  • 1.5 If time permits, repeat for iterated versions to ensure improvement
  1. Collaborate with current feature teams to generate wireframes and design guides on Figma.
  • 2.1 Meet with Focus Leads to understand aspects of features (input, output, technical constraints).
  • 2.2 Conduct Preliminary Tests using card sorting to see how users organize information and features.
  • 2.3 Organize Information based on user tests and conduct low-fidelity wireframes on paper. Discuss with team
  • 2.4 Translate low-fidelity wireframes to high-fidelity Figma prototype, complete with components, autolayout, and appropriate styling.
  • 2.5 [OPTIONAL] Share Figma Tailwind code with the development team, or simply show them the files for them to recreate.

Phase 1:

New Style Guide: This project will use a different style guide from the DevDogs branding and will have its own brand identity. The style guide includes things like what typefaces to use, colors, font weights & sizing, and tone. Each basic team will implement these choices in their own feature. and the UX team will be there for consulting/recommendations, but each feature team has the last call.

Basic wireframes & recommendations: This includes recommended layouts, functions, and user flows (a walkthrough of how the user interacts with the product). Each feature team will have the ability to add or remove the functions, and rearrange layouts as they see fit. Again the UX will just be guiding the conversation, and won’t design what the final product looks like.

Phase 2:

Systematic components: The UX team will output components like standardized buttons, icons to use, and headers. Each team will have the autonomy to change the content, colors, font weight & size and decide functionality. This will be delivered once we send out basic wireframes to each team on Figma!

UX Communication: Each team can reach out to us with any questions about wireframes, components, or design elements. The UX team is also here to refine existing ideas to ensure everything stays consistent through the development of the project.
