Add output location option to some commands

So I added a variable called parent path for the places where we used write_path to mean the parent directory, since it was always the same i.e synoptic/jsonmap...synoptic was always the writedirectory and the parent directory.

I also added two tests, one for status, and one for generatejsonmap
