v2.0.0
What's Changed
🚀 New Feature: Deep-Dive Publication Details
This update transforms the integration from a simple metadata tracker into a smart, actionable dashboard assistant. Instead of just showing high-level titles and requiring a click-through to the official website, the integration now performs a lightning-fast, two-step asynchronous dive into each official announcement.
By fetching and parsing the raw XML payload of individual publications, the sensor now extracts the exact context of the announcement (such as the specific activities of an omgevingsvergunning, like tree-felling or structural remodeling) and delivers it straight to your Home Assistant dashboard attributes.
🛠️ Changelog & Technical Modifications and bumped directly to v2.0.0
coordinator.py
- Two-Step Async Fetch Architecture: Upgraded the data update coordinator to execute a concurrent secondary fetch after pulling the primary RSS feed.
- Native XML Parser Integration: Swaps the standard
.htmlpublication URLs for their raw.xmlcounterparts onofficielebekendmakingen.nlto bypass fragile web-scraping or heavy PDF parsing. - Boilerplate Filtering: Implemented structural node tracking (
xml.etree.ElementTree) to capture all paragraph (<al>) and list (<lijst>) elements, while explicitly dropping generic administrative text (e.g., "Waarom publiceert de gemeente dit bericht?"). - Asynchronous Concurrency: Wrapped the secondary detail fetches inside
asyncio.gatherto ensure all 5 to 10 active feed documents are requested and parsed simultaneously, protecting the Home Assistant event loop from blocking delays.
sensor.py
- State Attribute Expansion: Added the new
detailed_descriptionkey to the main sensor’sextra_state_attributes. - Historical Context Persistence: Mapped the extracted detail blocks down into individual history elements so past items retain their detailed data context.
services.yaml & Documentation
- Updated recommended Markdown dashboard configurations to support blockquote rendering of the new
detailed_descriptionattribute.
📋 Short
feat: implement two-step async XML parsing for granular publication details
- Converts publication HTML URLs to raw XML endpoints to avoid scraping
- Uses asyncio.gather for concurrent background detail fetching
- Exposes 'detailed_description' attribute to sensors and history array
- Filters out generic administrative boilerplate text
