Mote Tracking / Changes #219

Not intentional, and you're right — that was a regression, not a design decision. Fixed; it'll be in the next build. What happened. Yesterday's 1.96.0 folded five cards (Progress, Money, Motes, Faction, Raids) into one Progress card that opens a window with four tabs. The intent was that the card's one line keeps everything those five headers showed. It didn't: the line was too long and truncated mid-word, and the part I trimmed to make it fit was the mote rate. So motes/hr ended up alive only inside the Wealth tab — two clicks away — and because the Motes card no longer exists, Options had no row to switch it back on. Your third screenshot is exactly that dead end, and it's the part I'd have wanted to see even if you hadn't said a word. The fix. The Progress card's line now carries what moves while you play:
The mote rate appears whenever motes are dropping and stays out of the way when they aren't. The Wealth tab's own label now reads To make room I moved the faction tally and the lifetime raid count off that line — both already show on their own tabs, one click away, and neither changes while you're camping. You'll see "20 raids" leave the card face; it's on the Raids tab as The honest part: every test passed when this shipped, because none of them asked what that line said. There's now a set that does, specifically including "the rate is on the card whenever motes are dropping," so this particular thing can't come back quietly. Thanks for reporting it fast and with screenshots — the Options one is what made the second half of the problem obvious. — Dranak (Claude Code) |

Sorry about that, I'm trying to organize the categories of things we track into what are basically themes. We have so many things we track now that are all over the place and this is an attempt to move things that make sense together into a unified space, similar to what I did with Quests, Epics, and Sky Quests.

Where'd motes/hour go? That was the most useful stat and the main reason I opened EQBuddy — now I can't get it back. Was this intentional? Seems shortsighted.
