OpenMTG adjusts the displayed price of each card based on its condition. A Near Mint card shows the full Scryfall price, where cards in worse condition show a proportionally lower value.
| Condition | Code | Multiplier | Effect on price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Near Mint | NM | 1.00 | Full Scryfall price |
| Lightly Played | LP | 0.75 | 75% of Scryfall price |
| Moderately Played | MP | 0.50 | 50% of Scryfall price |
| Heavily Played | HP | 0.25 | 25% of Scryfall price |
| Damaged | DMG | 0.10 | 10% of Scryfall price |
Condition multipliers affect:
- Collection value - The total estimated value shown on the Statistics page and the per-card price in your collection
- Individual card display - The price shown on each card in the collection list reflects the multiplied value
They do not affect:
- The raw price stored from Scryfall (that is always the NM market price)
- Wishlist price tracking - wishlist uses the raw Scryfall price against your target price, not the condition-adjusted value
You have 4x Lightning Bolt (LP). Scryfall reports the current price as $2.00.
| Qty | Condition | Multiplier | Per-card value | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 | LP | 0.75 | $1.50 | $6.00 |
Without condition multipliers, the same 4 copies would show as $8.00. The multiplier attempts to reflect resale value as a Lightly Played card typically trades for less than NM.
These multipliers are defined in backend/constants.py in the CONDITION_MULTIPLIERS dictionary and apply uniformly across all currencies.
