BigNoteBox v1.23.0: tl;dr notes, situations on and off, toast style picker

v1.23.0 is out. The highlights:

tl;dr notes

Give a note one short line (up to 80 characters), typed or picked from snippets like KOS, Friendly, Avoid or Vendor. It shows under the note title, in the game tooltip of the player or NPC the note is about, on the note icon at the Target and Focus frames, and on the note's toast. Hovering a note in the note list shows a small box with its tl;dr, next alarm, situations and waypoints. Settings > Modules > tl;dr turns it on or off and edits the snippet list.

Situations you can switch on and off

On the Situation tab a green situation is on, a grey one stays on the note but never shows: click to switch, double-click to edit. Every new player or NPC note gets a situation for that player or NPC, so a KOS note is: make the note, pick KOS as its tl;dr, done. Show as has a new choice, "Show nothing".

Toasts

• A style picker: every toast style shown as a real toast, click to use one
• Toasts that pop up together (at login, entering a zone) come in one after another and leave one at a time
• Toasts waiting for room show as a small "+N" box after the last one
• Toasts now start in the upper left (a position you placed yourself stays)

Also new

• After an update, the patch notes come as a pinned note and a toast instead of a window over the screen; a fresh install starts with a welcome note
• The top bar's Send button opens a note search that goes straight to Send to Chat (Oracle prefix "m" does the same)
• Suggestion lists take the arrow keys, Enter / Tab and Esc
• Settings > General has buttons that copy the links to BigNoteBox on GitHub, CurseForge, Wago and WoWInterface
• WoW Forever: the language selector is back

License

BigNoteBox's code is now licensed under the GNU GPL v3 (it was MIT). The logo and icon are All Rights Reserved, and the rest of the art is Blizzard's. Releases up to v1.22.x stay MIT.

v1.23.1 is out

All versions

• The bundled fonts now ship with their license files.
• Simplified Chinese: every string added since v1.21 is translated, and the older strings use the same words throughout.

Classic

• Fixed: Reference Box "Show IDs" adds the ItemID and SpellID lines to tooltips.
• Fixed: TBC Anniversary and MoP: the tl;dr line shows in the game tooltip of a player or NPC with a note.
• The language selector is now on Classic too (Settings > General and the setup wizard).
• The Report a bug button sits beside the main window, as on WoW Forever.
