Remove legacy GV stuff that is no longer required.
Remove hardwired limits on number of GV's (YAML read/write).
Rename some things for readability.
Note:
This PR is to cleanup the existing code to make way for increasing the number of GV's.
It does not address UI layout issues that would likely result from longer GV names (GV10, etc).
