Southern Hemisphere Spectrocopic Redshift Compilation (2024.01.24) - Zenodo
This release is the same as the previous (2024.01.24) one. It was created so that Zenodo can sync and assign a DOI for this repository.
Catalogue created on 2024-01-24 (YYYY-MM-DD)
Changelog:
- Fix: objects from SDSS BOSS were not being added to the final catalogue
- Changes on how data is sorted before duplicate removal
- Before: the data would be split into blocks and each block was sorted using the spectroscopic redshift error.
- After: two new auxiliary columns are created, related to the spectroscopic classification and redshift flags. Each block is then sorted with the following priority: Spectroscopic class > Spectroscopic redshift flag > Spectroscopic redshift error.
- The sorting done in the class has the following order:
GALAXY>AGN>SUPERNOVAE>QSO>STAR>GLOBCLUSTER>UNCLEAR. - For the spectroscopic redshift flag, the sorting order is:
KEEP>REMOVE> Unavailable.
- With these changes, we avoid the problem of removing objects that have classifications and/or good redshifts but higher redshift errors when there is a duplicate object with lower errors but
UNCLEARclasses and/orREMOVEredshift flags.
