Knife Tiers

EternalAsuka edited this page Jan 21, 2026 · 3 revisions

This mod introduces a tier system for knives used when processing rice panicles on cutting boards.

A knife's tier determines the base amount of rice produced. Higher-tier knives are more efficient and provide increased base yield.

What Is a Tier?

A tier is a ranking that represents a knife's relative quality.

When a rice panicle is placed on a cutting board, the knife's tier is evaluated first to determine the base rice output. Additional modifiers, such as enchantments, are applied afterward.

Determined Knife Tiers

Knife tiers are assigned based on the knife's material and rarity

Tier List of Knives

Tier Base Rice Description Materials
Tier 1 3 Basic materials Flint, Bone, Skyroot, Holystone
Tier 2 4 Common metals Iron, Silver, Nether Quartz, Gold, Ironwood
Tier 3 5 Precious materials Diamond, Zanite, Veridium, Steeleaf, Knightly
Tier 4 6 Rare and legendary materials Netherite, Warden, Resonarium, Gravitite, Phoenix, Fiery, and other rare materials

These values represent the base yield only.

How Tiers Affect Yield

  • Each knife tier provides a fixed base amount
  • Tier effects are applied before enchantments
  • Higher tiers increase the potential output without changing the processing workflow

For details on how enchantments modify this base value, see:

Modded Knives and Fallback behavior

This mod does NOT add new knife items.

Knives that are not explicitly recognized default to Tier 1 behavior. This ensures consistent and safe behavior when using knives from other mods.

If a modded knife should behave differently, contact me, or go to my Curse Forge and leave a comment with what mod is breaking things.
