Thanks for reporting. This is the same failure pattern as #466 (same device, same reporter, Evolver v1.39.0, same gene_gep_repair_from_errors repeated-failure signature). Closing as duplicate of #466 to keep the investigation in one place.

Action needed to move this forward:

1. Upgrade first. v1.39.0 is far behind. Latest stable is v1.69.21 (and v1.70.0-beta.4 is available on the beta tag). Several classes of repair-loop and sandbox/exec regressions have been fixed between 1.39 and 1.69, including:

   • heartbeat re-auth storms when Hub rotates node_secret (v1.69.19)
   • hello() 429 backoff and 30-minute cooldown (v1.69.19)
   • Windows/Unix git preflight so node index.js run does not hang silently (v1.69.20)
   • CPU-count floor / loadavg clamp on low-core devices (v1.69.3)

2. If the failure reproduces on v1.69.21, please reply on [Auto] Recurring failure: Repeated failures with gene: gene_gep_repair_from_errors #466 with:

   • one full session JSONL where the loop triggers (or at minimum the TOOLRESULT line preceding the first failure),
   • node index.js health / lifecycle status output,
   • the exec preflight error in full (one of the duplicates in this batch showed "complex interpreter invocation detected" — that is a specific preflight refusal that we can diagnose if we see which binary was being invoked).

We will keep #466 open and labeled needs-info. Further auto-filed duplicates from the same device before v1.69.21 will be closed on sight.
