Action Performed:

Precondition: Location access is not allowed, so that the default view is San Francisco.

1. Go to staging.new.expensify.com.
2. Go to workspace chat > Request money > Distance.
3. Click Start.
4. Enter an address in San Francisco area (e.g. 88 Kearny Street, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA) and save it.

Expected Result:

The map will zoom in to show the location.

Actual Result:

The map does not zoom in to show the location. This issue does not happen with other addresses that are not in San Francisco.

Distance - Map does not zoom in when Start location is in San Francisco

What is the root cause of that problem?

This happens because of the difference in zoom levels in native and web implementations of MapView for a single waypoint. (native is 15, whereas for the web, it is still 10).

This makes the zoom non-apparent in web platforms

What changes do you think we should make in order to solve the problem?

Make the zoom the same, i.e., make them 15 or 10, across all platforms. (preferably 15)
