Action Performed:

Setup - Can be executed in a Secondary device or browser

1. Go to staging.new.expensify.com
2. Register as a new user to the app
3. Select “Chat and split expenses with friends” and click Continue
4. Enter first and last names, then click Continue
5. Click the Find icon in the upper right corner of the LHN
6. Add an email address that does not have an Expensify account, click on it in the list below (Should be a real account with an inbox that can receive the invite)
7. Send a “Hello!” message to the new user in the DM chat

Steps - Main testing device (wait about 10 - 15 minutes to receive the email)
8. Open the email inbox of the invited user
9. From the unread message email/invite, click on the link at the bottom of the email to navigate to new.expensify.com
10. Verify you do not need to use a magic link
11. Open Concierge chat
12. Verify that the app has generated a welcome message and onboarding tasks in Concierge chat

Expected Result:

Verify the listed tasks are as follows: Take a 2-minute tour, Start a chat (checked off & struck through), Split an expense, Enable your wallet. (TC Step 17)

What is the root cause of that problem?

The "Enable your wallet" onboarding task does not exist in the codebase. The CHAT_SPLIT onboarding flow (used for users invited via DM) defines exactly three tasks at OnboardingFlow.ts:357: testDriveEmployeeTask, startChatTask, and splitExpenseTask. There is no wallet-related task in any onboarding flow, nor has one ever existed in git history for this file. The ONBOARDING_TASK_TYPE enum in CONST/index.ts:8692-8709 also has no wallet task type.

The test case expectation (BrowserStack TC Step 17) appears to reference a task that was designed/planned but never implemented.

What changes do you think we should make in order to solve the problem?

Add an "Enable your wallet" onboarding task to the CHAT_SPLIT flow:

1. Add a new ENABLE_WALLET entry to the ONBOARDING_TASK_TYPE enum in src/CONST/index.ts
2. Add language strings for the new task in src/languages/en.ts (and other locale files) under onboarding.tasks
3. Define the new enableWalletTask in src/libs/actions/Welcome/OnboardingFlow.ts, pointing to the wallet enablement page
4. Add it to the onboardingChatSplitMessage.tasks array alongside the existing three tasks

What alternative solutions did you explore? (Optional)

If this task was intentionally excluded from the CHAT_SPLIT flow (i.e., the test case expectation is wrong rather than the code), then no code change is needed — only the BrowserStack test case should be updated. The issue author or product team should confirm which is correct.

Supporting evidence

• onboardingChatSplitMessage at OnboardingFlow.ts:355-358 only has 3 tasks
• git log -p -- src/libs/actions/Welcome/OnboardingFlow.ts shows no wallet task was ever present
• ENABLE_WALLET in CONST/index.ts exists only in KYC_WALL_SOURCE and navigation contexts, not in ONBOARDING_TASK_TYPE
• The enableWallet language strings in en.ts are for the wallet settings page and IOU payment contexts, not onboarding

Please re-state the problem that we are trying to solve in this issue.

When a user signs up via a DM invite email link and lands in Concierge, the onboarding task list is missing the "Enable your wallet" task, showing only three tasks instead of the expected four.

What is the root cause of that problem?

The invite-onboarding path runs through prepareGuidedSetupData in src/libs/actions/Report/index.ts#L1210-L1214, which pulls the base onboarding message for the CHAT_SPLIT choice and only mutates the startChat task to auto-complete. This code path never appends the wallet-enablement task that the invited-user spec (BrowserStack TC Step 17) requires, so the guided setup payload sent to the backend is missing it entirely. Existing wallet-enable infrastructure already exists via ROUTES.SETTINGS_WALLET / KYC (see PureReportActionItem.tsx#L1343 using translate('iou.enableWallet')), so we only need to inject a task entry into this invite-specific branch.

What changes do you think we should make in order to solve the problem?

Augment the CHAT_SPLIT branch in prepareGuidedSetupData so the invited-user task list includes an enable-wallet task alongside the existing three. This keeps the normal signup CHAT_SPLIT flow untouched while fixing only the invite path:
